Heroin worth Rs 16 crore seized in Tamil Nadu

Heroin worth Rs 16 crore in the international market have been seized and two persons arrested in this connection in Ramanathapuram on Thursday, Central Narcotics Intelligence Bureau sources said.
Following a tip-off, the CNIB officials rushed to the railway station here and searched the baggage of some passengers, and found 15.5 kg of heroin in the possession of the two persons, the sources said.
The two, who were smuggling the heroin from Mumbai to Sri Lanka, belong to Irumeni village in Tamil Nadu, the sources added.
