The players in the dock are Arjun Halappa, Sardar Singh, Adrian D'Souza, Prabhjot Singh, who were designated captains of four of the eight teams, and Sandeep Singh, who was also present at the WSH event. A member of the coaching staff in Bangalore told HT that the players had not sought permission from the coaches.

Sardar and Sandeep are already facing disciplinary charges for playing in the Belgian League and missing the camp ahead of the Azlan Shah Cup in May. HI secretary general, Narinder Batra, said only Halappa had sought permission over phone, which was denied.
