High Court relief to Pataudi

THE HIGH Court today stayed the Bhopal district court order of December 12, 2005 directing Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi for personal appearance to record evidence in a land property dispute.
Justice Shubhada Vaghmare stayed the lower court order while hearing a plea filed by Pataudi challenging legality of the lower court order on basis that he had furnished a power-of-attorney to a person representing him in the suit.
Senior advocate S. C. Sharma appeared for the petitioner.
The Safia Education Society has filed a suit against Pataudi in the lower court at Bhopal for specific performance of contract claiming that they had entered into an agreement with former ruler of Bhopal Begum Sajida Sultan in February 1985 for purchase of 35.70 acres land. As per the agreement, the Society filed a suit seeking directions from the lower court to Pataudi for executing the sale deed in favour of it for 35.70 acres land.
