High drama on city road

According to information, Dr K Lal working with a private hospital, had gone to a shoe shop in Sigra area. His driver was sitting outside in the car. Meanwhile, three youths suddenly arrived and asked the driver to hand over the key as they were seizing the car. When the driver refused to obey them, they forcibly entered the car, pushing aside the driver.

3 youths loot car, claim to be finance co staff; arrested

POLICE ARRESTED three youths on the charge of looting an Indica car of a medical practitioner in Chaukaghat area under Chetganj police station on Friday.

According to information, Dr K Lal working with a private hospital, had gone to a shoe shop in Sigra area. His driver was sitting outside in the car. Meanwhile, three youths suddenly arrived and asked the driver to hand over the key as they were seizing the car. When the driver refused to obey them, they forcibly entered the car, pushing aside the driver. Bedlam prevailed in the busy Sajan cinema area when pedestrians and vendors spotted three youths beating up the driver and driving away the car towards Maldahiya area.

Some vendors witnessed the scene and informed the doctor about it. The doctor informed the cops on picket duty about the incident. The police sent a wireless message throughout the city about the incident.

Cops tried to stop the car at Maldahiya but the youths ignored the police signal and fled towards GT road from Andhrapul side. However, Chetganj police led by SSI Shishir Trivedi, stopped the car at Chaukaghat and arrested the three youths.

During interrogation, they told the police that they were recovery agents of Mahindra Finance Company and had been given the assignment of seizing the car by one Manish of the company as the doctor had not paid two consecutive installments of the car’s loan.

Police booked the three youths under section 392. They were identified as Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Kumar and Laxman Kumar.
