High on life in Singapore
The Fun City, Garden City, City for the Arts... The island state lives up to its many reputations.

My stint with seven days of fun and frolic started the moment we landed at the beautiful Changi airport in Singapore. “Wow, Singapore is so beautiful,” became the favourite phrase of all the scribes who were part of this trip. The lovely roads with rows and rows of trees, all planted at the same distance and growing at an equal height, gave the city a very unreal look. But it was all there for us to touch and see.

Singapore is truly a cosmopolitan city – it never seemed to be a new or alien country because we kept bumping into Indians everywhere we went (the Indian community has a strong presence in Singapore). That’s why even vegetarians don’t have to worry about food here. Several Indian restaurants around Singapore ensure that you don’t get to miss your ghar ka khana for long. And for all those who love seafood – well, Singapore has a wide variety for you too.
Singapore is a shopper’s delight. Every corner of the city bursts with huge malls that boast of having almost every famous brand in the world. It is truly a city for shopaholics. However, there is much more to Singapore than simply shopping. It’s the perfect getaway for a family holiday with lots of options to choose from. Whether it is the lovely Jurong Bird Park or the exciting Sentosa Island, or the famous Night Safari, there is something for everyone. Recently, Singapore rebranded itself as ‘Uniquely Singapore,’ promoting itself as a major tourist attraction by highlighting all these factors apart from bringing alive its rich past and cosmopolitan culture. So, where are you going this summer?
