The Finnair plane, which had flown from Berlin to Moscow via Helsinki, was being examined at a Moscow airport by specialists, the transport ministry told Interfax news agency.

Passengers scheduled to fly on the plane from Moscow to Helsinki were being transferred to another flight, the ministry said.

The suspected contamination of two BA aircraft came to light as part of investigations into the poisoning of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko.
