EXPRESSING ANGUISH at the handling by police of the probe into the violence during student union polls in Ujjain, deceased professor H S Sabharwal’s son Himanshu today demanded that a DNA test be conducted to ascertain whether the heart sent by police for examination was that of his father.
“In view of reports that the container carrying the heart of my father was not properly sealed and it was rejected on that ground by the medical college, I demand that the administration conduct a DNA test on the organ to establish whether it belongs to my father or someone else,” Himanshu told this agency.
He also expressed anguish over the fact that 14 days had elapsed since his father’s death and “due to pressure from the government”, the police were unable to question nine persons they had identified in the case.

AKHIL BHARATIYA Vidyarthi Parishad activists will stage a demonstration at Ujjain on Friday to protest against the arrest of their top two leaders in connection with Professor Sabharwal murder case. Parishad national president Kailash Sharma will lead the protest.
ABVP State organising secretary Surendra Sharma claimed that over 5,000 activists from different places in the division would congregate for the agitation. He said the leaders were falsely implicated in the case. The activists will take out a rally from Mahakal temple to Malipura where a public meeting will be held.
