In the six one-day cricket series played between India and Pakistan in Pakistan, Wednesday's victory was the first series-winning tie for India in that country.

Following is the chronological sequence of the one-day series played between the two countries in Pakistan.

78-79 series (40 overs a side):

1st ODI Quetta: India 70 for 7; Pakistan 166 for 8. India won by four runs.

2nd ODI Sialkot: India 79 all out; Pakistan 83 for 2. India lost by eight wickets.

3rd ODI Sahiwal: Pakistan 205 for 7; India 183 for 2 in 37.4 overs: India conceded the match after umpires did not call four deliveries of Sarfraz Nawaz's in the 38th over as wide even though they were all out of reach of the batsmen.

India lost the series 1-2.

82-83 series (40 overs a side):

1st ODI Gujranwala: Pakistan 224 for 4; India 210 for 6. India lost the match by 14 runs.

2nd ODI Multan: Pakistan 263 for 2; India 226 for 7. India lost by 37 runs.

3rd ODI Lahore: Pakistan 252 for 3 off 33 overs; India 193 for 4 in 27 overs. India won by 18 runs after the target was revised due to rain.

4th ODI Karachi: India 197 for 6; Pakistan 198 for 2. Pakistan won by 8 wickets.

India lost the series 1-3.

84-85 series (40 overs a side):

1st ODI Quetta: Pakistan 199 for 7; India 153 all out in 37.1 overs. India lost by 46 runs.

2nd ODI Sialkot: India 210 for 3; Match abandoned as a draw as the news that the Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi was assasinated reached. The rest of the tour was also called off. India were behind 0-1 when the series was called off.

89-90 series (40 overs a side):

1st ODI Peshawar: Match abandoned due to poor light. An exhibition match of 20 overs per side was played to please the public.

2nd ODI Gujranwala: Pakistan 87 for 9 in 16 overs; India 80 for 9. India lost by 7 runs.

3rd ODI Karachi: Match abandoned due to crowd disruption.

4th ODI Lahore: Pakistan 150 for 8 in 37 overs; India 112 all out in 30.2 overs. India lost by 38 runs.

97-98 series (50 overs a side)

1st ODI Hyderabad (Sind): India 170 all out in 49 overs; Pakistan 171 for 5 in 44.3 overs. India lost by 5 wickets.

2nd ODI Karachi: Pakistan 265 for 4; India 266 for 6. India won by 4 wickets.

3rd ODI Lahore: India 216 all out; Pakistan 219 for 1. India lost by 9 wickets.

India lost the series 1-2.

2003-04 series (50 overs a side)

1st ODI Karachi: India 349 for 7; Pakistan 344 for 8. India won by five runs.

2nd ODI Rawalpindi: Pakistan 329 for 6; India 317 all out in 48.4 overs. India lost by 12 runs.

3rd ODI Peshawar: India 244 for 9; Pakistan 247 for 6 in 47.2 overs. India lost by four wickets.
