Hotel owners arrested for neglecting security guidelines

Police in the Union Territory of Daman have arrested 13 hotel owners & managers for neglecting the order of District Magistrate and not maintaining proper records of the visitors.

Police in the Union Territory of Daman have arrested 13 hotel owners & managers for neglecting the order of District Magistrate and not maintaining proper records of the visitors.

"During a surprise visit by a team, lead by Assistant Superintendent of Police Harishchandra, to 13 famous hotels of Daman it was found that all the owners were neglecting the security guidelines set up by the District Magistrate after the Mumbai terror attacks," Chief of Police R P Meena told PTI.

Owners/managers of these hotels were taken into custody for neglect of duty and maintaining dual records, Meena said adding those arrested include Hotel Association Secretary TamTam Wadia.

District Magistrate have, in the wake of Mumbai attack, have asked all hotel owners to keep a copy of the id proof and address proof of all the visitors and update the nearest police station at regular intervals.
