Under the scheme, every BPL family will be ensured Rs 30,000 per annum provided it comprises at least five members irrespective of age, an official spokesman said on Sunday.

Such families will not be required to pay premium for the insurance cover but the beneficiary will have to shell out Rs 30 per annum as registration and renewal fee, he added.

Every beneficiary will be issued Smart Card free of cost, the official said, adding the insurance money will be payable only if he/she gets indoor treatment.

The scheme is being implemented with a Central assistance of Rs 19 crore, he said.
