"He complained of breathlessness in the evening and was taken to the hospital," said Murugan, Singh's assistant personal secretary. He, however, refused to comment further on the minister's condition.

This is the second time in four months that Singh, 75, has been hospitalised.

Singh was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) at Chandigarh November 21 last year after he complained of chest pain.

Singh had then gone to Chandigarh to inaugurate a regional office of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at Panchkula.
