As Sanjay Gadhvi’s much-awaited sequel Dhoom: 2 opens today, the director talks about the risks and thrills he experienced in making both the films.

looks more powerful with more action and a very good looking cast.
Yes it is. The film is made with the latest and the best technology. The cast has performed the most daring stunts. Actually, the budget involved is bigger this time, which gave me enough liberty to employ the best of everything. And that includes, the star cast as well. Especially with Hrithik and Aishwarya coming together, the screen is going to sizzle, literally.

Was it difficult handling such a big cast?
When you are working with Yash Raj as a production house, it can never be an issue. Indeed, Abhishek, Uday and Hrithik are one group of pals. To top it all, Yash Raj is like a home banner for all them.

Also, the script was written in such a way that there was no scope of chaos. These young actors are very professional. They believe in giving 110 per cent to their characters so that their roles look the best.

How risky was it to make a film like Dhoom?
Dhoom could have easily gone wrong. A typical Bollywood film stands on three pillars — romance, emotion and drama. Dhoom had none of it. It was a mean flick all about men and machines. But still, it had something, which appealed to the audience.

Dhoom:2 is a bigger risk on the same lines. Dhoom: 2 is a twister. Hrithik replaces John Abraham as the thief.

How different are the two?
John was the bad guy so is Hrithik. However, the modus operandi are different. Hrithik’s character has far more negative shades as compared to John’s.

How prominent are girls this time?
Both Aishwarya and Bipasha are integral to the story and have bigger stakes in the current script while in Dhoom, Esha (Deol) and Rimmi (Sen) were important but not as crucial as these two are this time.

To conclude, what according to you is the USP of the film?
Hrithik and Aishwarya’s pairing together. They are simply too hot to handle. When I say this I mean it, literally.
