The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) on Friday stopped the construction of a building in Sector 32, an institutional area, and launched a probe against another building over alleged violation of building bylaws.
According to Huda officials, one of the buildings has missed the completion deadline which was December last year.
In the other building, the department has decided to measure the floor area ratio (FAR) to find out whether the owner has violated the norm.
“These buildings have been grossly violating building bylaws. However, the nature of the violations is yet to be established,” said Huda administrator Praveen Kumar after inspecting the sites.
The administrator has asked the owners of both the buildings to produce the documents related to the approval of building plan by Monday or Tuesday.
The Huda chief has also instructed the sub-divisional engineer (SDE) and junior engineer of the area to keep a tab on the two buildings.
The construction in charge of the two buildings told the administrator that the completion time of the two buildings was December 2010.
“I will inquire the matter and take appropriate action after studying their building plan papers,” the administrator added. The action came after a top official complained about the violations in the area about a fortnight ago.
