Hugh Jackman wants to act opposite Anne Hathaway

The Australian actor has already developed the script for the Stephen Sondheim musical, and feels that Hathaway, who danced alongside him at the Academy Award ceremony, will fit the role of Julie Jordan perfectly.

The Australian actor has already developed the script for the Stephen Sondheim musical, and feels that Hathaway, who danced alongside him at the Academy Award ceremony, will fit the role of Julie Jordan perfectly.

Hugh, who plans to portray Billy Bigelow, thinks that the musical will garner positive reaction from audiences.

"I've been looking to do a musical film for some time and after things like Moulin Rouge!, Chicago and Hairspray, I think there's a real opportunity there,” Contactmusic quoted Hugh, as saying.

Upon Hathaway, he added: “I''ve been filling up her (Anne Hathaway) answering machine with messages about Carousel.”
