Hyderabad bound flight diverted after engine trouble

The pilots of the Bombardier Q-400, operating flight SG 1048, noticed signals of suspected engine trouble on the cockpit panel and decided to land at Bangalore airport short of its final destination, airline sources said.

A SpiceJet Coimbatore-Hyderabad flight carrying 70 passengers was diverted to Bangalore on Wednesday following engine trouble.

The pilots of the Bombardier Q-400, operating flight SG 1048, noticed signals of suspected engine trouble on the cockpit panel and decided to land at Bangalore airport short of its final destination, airline sources said.

All emergency services, including fire brigade and ambulances, were kept ready as the flight landed safely, airport officials said.

The passengers were disembarked from the aircraft and later taken to their final destination of Hyderabad by another SpiceJet and Indigo flight.
