Put into bat, Hyderabad scored 181 in 35 overs with Raj Kumar (40) and Noel David (unbeaten 33) being the main contributors.
David Johnson, N Umesh and Srinivas Murthy took two wickets each for the visitors.
Khadeer and Chetan Joshi then took three wickets each as Hyderbad restricted Karnataka to 112.
Fazal Khaleel (23) and Srinivas Murthy (35) scored the bulk of the runs for the visitors.
