I-Day preparations in full swing

HUMAN CHAIN, all-religion prayer meeting, parabhat pheri and cultural programmes will be organised to celebrate the Independence Day. The district administration has made extensive preparations for the August 15 celebrations. Besides, various other organisations have also planned to hold functions to strengthen the feeling of patriotism.

HUMAN CHAIN, all-religion prayer meeting, parabhat pheri and cultural programmes will be organised to celebrate the Independence Day. The district administration has made extensive preparations for the August 15 celebrations. Besides, various other organisations have also planned to hold functions to strengthen the feeling of patriotism.

The programmes will start with 'Martyr Chandrashekhar Azad Smriti Daur' at 6.30 am. Civil Defence Core members will form a human chain at Civil Lines at 7am and this will be followed by prabhat pheri to be taken out by the students of primary and secondary schools.

District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat will hoist the Tricolour on the Collectorate campus at 8am. He will also garland the statues of Bharat Mata and Martyr Lal Padamdhar and distribute shawls among the freedom fighters.

The District Magistrate will also pay tributes to Chandra Shekhar Azad and garland the statue of Roshan Singh on the SRN Hospital premises. He will also offer flowers to the memorial of Martyr Ashfaq Ullah Khan. Kesar Vidya Peeth Inter College will organise a programme near historical Neem tree in Chowk. The DM will be the chief guest of the function.

The flag-hoisting ceremonies will also be held at all the government and private schools in city and rural areas. Office of the Information Department has organised cultural programmes at Naini Central Jail.

The officers, who played an important role in 2001 Census, will be honoured by the district administration on the occasion. The schools will organise patriotic plays, seminars, debate competitions, exhibitions, essay and painting competitions to mark the Independence Day.

Addressing the Independence Day celebration review meeting here on Saturday, District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat said every government and non-government offices should organise flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Independence Day.

Meanwhile, the chief development officer has planned to organise development melas at Shankargarh and Kaudihar development blocks on August 15. There will be free distribution of plants and seeds at these melas. A free health check-up camp will also be organised. The district information office will organise cultural programme at the mela.

The flag hoisting ceremony will also be organised at the Panchayat Bhawan here at 10 am. DPRO will also organise cultural programmes at Panchayat Bhawan. The DUDA will offer flowers to Shahid Smarak at Yamuna Bank Road.
Blood donation camp at SRN Hospital:

The Indian Red Cross Society will organise blood donation camp at SRN Hospital at 11 am. The DM and other senior officers will donate blood at the blood camp.
A medical check up camp will be organised at malin basti in which the Chief Medical Officer will distribute free medicines among patients.

DUDA has also organised seminar at Malin Basti Malakraj and will also distribute fruits and sweets at Kushtashram, blind school, orphanage, Viklang Kendra and Nati Niketan.

A 'Sarva Dharma Sabha' will also be organised by the Civil Defence Core near Chandra Shekhar Azad statue.

Meanwhile, students of St Mary’s Convent School Ghoorpur will celebrate I-day with Silica Mining workers of Shankergah.
