With the ‘Dancing Diva’ title under her belt this Miss India (2006) finalist is busy with at least 10-15 fashion shows a month. “I’m lovin’ it. I like flowing with life and what more if it is a passion for you,” says the bubbly model flashing a delightful smile.

Walking down the ramp across the globe, Romil’s done shows in Belgium, Kenya, Uganda and Luxemburg.

As a kid she always dreamt of becoming a model. “I was never fascinated with acting. Ramp world was where I wanted to be. The first title came to me when I was in Class XI — Miss Lucknow. But, thereafter studies became my priorities and all was put on hold.”

Then, while in IIIrd year of graduation, she joined ETV as an anchor. Then, shows, acting, anchoring and dancing followed. “Having reached the maximum level in Lucknow I moved to Delhi in 2003 and joined Elite as a model which took care of all my assignments. I was with them for two years and I count them as the best part of my grooming period.”

Then, came Miss India! She made it to the finals but had to settle with ‘Dancing Diva’ title. “Though, I had never learnt dancing it is like passion for me. All the participants were ready to give me a walkover for this title. They and me knew that it was always mine. The judges Sandeep Soparkar, Dipanita Sharma and Jassi Randhawa were flattered by my instant performances and that won me the title.”

But, did she benefit from the title? “If I tried, I could have easily got music videos. But I can’t do those sleazy item numbers. I can’t go to the level where my parents can’t watch me. This, is why I am even not very keen on Bollywood but if anything good comes to me, I will consider.”

But even some dresses in fashion shows are revealing. “I can’t wear a bikini top even in shows. In Miss India though the swimsuit round is a must, but it is indoors in the presence of women members and judges. Nothing is public in it.”

She has nothing against those baring in lingerie shows but then those shows are not for her.

Commenting on wardrobe malfunction incidents she says: “It can happen to anyone. We have just 30 seconds to change and you never know what button, hook or string can play the culprit. One just needs to be overcautious. No model will bare herself in pubic for such cheap publicity.”

Giving a word of advice to city models and their parents, she makes a point: “The most important thing is selecting a good agency. Parents must fully support their children and they must also keep their faith. More than physical attributes the important things are having a good PR skills, an educational background and balanced mind which can judge between right and wrong. Like every field here also there are some dark sides but one needs to handle things sensibly.”

So what is next on her agenda? “Besides walking down the ramp, I am going for choreography, I intend to do Post Graduation and maybe move to Mumbai for further avenues. I love flowing with life and let thing come my way. Let’s she what future has in store for me?”
