In the financial year 2005-06 revenue collection was Rs 544.45 crore, which was 50 per cent more than last year. During the financial year 2005-06 revenue collection target for entire country was fixed at 35 per cent more than previous year.
However, at Chief Income Tax Commissioner Indore office hike of 50 per cent was registered. This year, in spite of increasing tax limit, there was maximum increase in revenue collection.
Similarly in recovery of due tax in the financial year 2005-06 in Indore region, more than 300 per cent recovery was done. On this achievement, Chief Income tax Commissioner Indore has received letter of citation from Central Tax Board, New Delhi.
In Indore and Ujjain divisions there are income tax offices in 11 cities, which are under Chief Income Tax Commissioner, Indore.
