While golfer Tiger Woods mother, Kultida, said she was proud about the way her son had come out in public to apologise for his various sex-related affairs, a porn star with whom Woods is said to have had a romp with, said that he had faked it again.

"I said, I' m so proud of you. Never think you stand alone. Mom will always be there for you and I love you," Kultida Woods said after her son kissed and hugged her.

However, porn star Veronica Siwik-Daniels, said she was not impressed.

"I thought it was fake. He needs therapy. I' m just not sure what kind of therapy that is," said Siwik-Daniels, who performs under the name Joslyn James.

Another of Tiger's conquests, Jaime Jungers, disagreed. "I thought it was sincere. It was emotional."

A few of the lady golfers were moved by Woods'apology.

"Puh-lease," said Jessica Betts of Manhattan. "As soon as the spotlight is off him, he'll go back to be being a dog. He kept stumbling over his words, because it was so scripted! That made it seem insincere."

At the ESPN Zone in Times Square, Woods' words were also greeted with great skepticism.

"It was very contrite but I don't think it was written by him," said Sanford Marten of Bethpage, L.I.

"I think it was written by his publicist. And as much as he tried to make it sound heartfelt, he still sounded cold and hollow."

It was the first time Woods faced the public since the lurid - and disastrous - sex scandal broke after Woods crashed his SUV Thanksgiving night.
