REITERATING THAT she will chart out a new course after taking a pledge on the banks of the Saryu river in Chitrakoot on April 30, expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti has said she is visiting the district to seek ‘Janadesh’ (people’s verdict).

“I will take pledge to fulfil ‘Panch Nishtha’ — Swabhiman, Suraksha, Swadeshi, Shuchita and Suraj — within 10 years. I need peoplele’s blessing and support for the purpose,” Bharti told a public gathering here yesterday.

She said she will form a new India in the next 10 years by following the principles of ‘Panch Nishtha’. Asserting that the gap between the rich and the poor had to be removed, the fiery sanyasin said 70 per cent people in the country were poor.

“Poor people do not get the respect, which a rich person gets. There are no facilities for poor people in the country,” she alleged.
