The upcoming Wills India Fashion Week will add a new feature to its annual event by dedicating an extra day to the business of fashion aimed at buyers and designers.
Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), which holds the event, also said that Finland-based mobile communications giant Nokia will be the exclusive associate sponsor of the fashion week - Aug 30 to Sep 4.
"The event is truly dedicated to the business of fashion. This is why we have added an extra day - Sep 4 - totally dedicated to business opportunities," said Ritu Kumar, noted designer and president of FDCI.
The fashion week aims to gain recognition from buyers and retailers as the single-largest business-to-business platform for the fashion design industry, FDCI officials told reporters here.
Over 75 designers are expected to participate in the event including Rina Dhaka, J.J. Valaya and Tarun Tahiliani.
Nokia marketing director Devinder Kishore also announced that his company will be creating a collection of luxury handsets for the event in association with designer Ashish Soni.
"The partnership with WIFW and Ashish Soni will help Nokia reiterate its leadership in style, design and lifestyle and make Nokia handsets a compelling choice for the fashion conscious consumers."
