IIT-K to honour eight scientists and engineers
EIGHT ENGINEERS and scientists will be honoured with Satyendra Kumar Dubey Memorial (SKDM) Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) at a function to be held by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-K) on March 25. The SKDM Award has been instituted by the IIT-K in memory of its alumnus Satyendra Kumar Dubey, in recognition of his honesty and integrity. SK Dubey was murdered on November 27, 2003.

The SKDM Award has been instituted by the IIT-K in memory of its alumnus Satyendra Kumar Dubey, in recognition of his honesty and integrity. SK Dubey was murdered on November 27, 2003.
This award is given to outstanding faculty and staff of all IITs each year. This time the award would be given to Arvind Kejriwal, an alumnus of the IIT Kharagpur, for his crusade against corruption in bureaucracy and campaign for getting the Right to Information Bill passed in the wider interest of the citizens.
The DAA, launched by the institute in 1989, is the highest award given to an alumnus of IIT-K in recognition of his achievements in various academic fields.
The award consists of a plaque and a citation. This year the award would be given to six alumni including Abhay K Bhushan(1995 batch), Ambuj Goyal (1978) , Pawan Kumar (M. Tech 1971), Pradeep Jotwani (1975), Rajeev Motwani (1983) , Umesh Mishra (1979) and Vijay Mahajan (1971).
According to Deputy Director of IIT-K Kripa Shanker, Abhay Kumar Bushan, chief financial officer of IIT-K Foundation USA, has been chosen for his outstanding contribution to social activities. He is also adviser to Hot Biscom, Malltrip Com, Geotouch, At Wealth and B-Bop Associates.
Pawan Kumar is the founder of vMoksha group and Ambuj Goyal is the general manager of IMB’s lotus unit, IMB software group USA.
Similarly, Pradeep Jotwani is a top executive at Havlett Packards Printers, 10-billion-dollar company. Rajeev Motwani has several achievements to his credit as a professor in a computer science, department at Stanford University, USA.
Umesh Mishra, co-founder of Nitres Inc and has an exemplary contribution to the fields of semi-conductors and solid state devices. Dr Vijay Mahajan, a global management guru, is a founder of the North American Society for marketing education in India.
