One of the very few welcome additions to the city's frenetic restaurant scene, Baba Ling's Imperial Garden has established itself as a purveyor of fine Chinese food that you won't find at most of the five-star establishments. Ask for the crabs cooked in the Singapore style (ask for the female crabs to get more meat), the Chicken Roast, or the Steamed Pomfret served with garlic sauce. The dim sum don't have much character, but there's no point looking beyond the fresh seafood. Baba Ling's signature flourishes and an informed staff make a visit to this place worth the while. And the dishes deserve their price tags.
