In pics: Chennai inundated, people face hardship

Many parts of Chennai and the suburbs have been flooded from the incessant rains that have hit the city in the past 24 hours, amidst the worst ever flood situation in Tamil Nadu.

Many parts of Chennai and the suburbs have been flooded from the incessant rains that have hit the city in the past 24 hours, amidst the worst ever flood situation in Tamil Nadu.

Water has entered houses in the low-lying areas of Anna nagar and there is water-logging in almost every part of the city.

Flight operations at the Chennai Airport have been closed till 6am on Thursday because of the flooding of the runway.

Twelve trains leaving Chennai Egmore were already cancelled on Tuesday due to water overflowing on railway tracks between Villupuram - Tambaram section.
