India can do better than developed nations: Murthy

Former chairman of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy today said that India has a chance to catch up, and even do better than the developed nations.

"This is both an opportunity and a challenge ... unless we are globally competitive we shall perish," he told a gathering of students here.

Murthy also underlined the role the youth can play in shaping the country's future and inculcating a value system in life to enable them to translate vision into action.

He said there are avenues available to every person to contribute his or her might to the development of the nation.
