India ranked 117th in FIFA list

India have just 378 points and are placed just behind tiny Hong Kong with 116 points, while defending World Cup winners Brazil top the list with 827 points.

These are the final rankings ahead of the World Cup that starts in Germany on June 6.

India, which has a crazy public for the game, does not have a team that could dominate even the South Asian region.

But when it comes to watching the World Cup on television, the whole nation remains glued to the TV.

According to an estimate, a total 75 million Indians sampled the telecast of World Cup 2002 on television, with a cumulative audience reach of 804 million in the country.

This time, the figures are expected to break all previous records.
