India records above-normal rain in past week-sources

India's monsoon rains were 21 per cent above average in the past week, two sources in the India Meteorological Department told Reuters on Thursday.
But total rainfall since June 1, the start of the season, was 20 per cent below average because of exceptionally dry spells in the past, they said.
