India's inflation seen at 4.29%

India's wholesale price inflation is forecast at 4.29 per cent for the 12 months to January 7, lower than the previous week's 4.40 per cent, a Reuters poll of 11 analysts showed on Thursday.

The government is expected to release the latest data on Friday at about 12 p.m. (0630 GMT).

The RBI raised its key short-term interest rate by 25 basis points to 5.25 per cent in October, citing inflation pressures caused by high oil prices. It holds its next policy meeting on January 24.
