The recently concluded India Fashion Week in the capital has turned out to be a success for many Indian designers. Six of its member designers have been selected to be a part of the prestigious Festival International des Arts de la Mode et de la Photographie (international fashion and photography festival), at the Villa Noailles in the south of France from April 28 – 30, 2006.
Based on their recent success at FDCI's Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Manish Arora, Meera Muzaffar Ali, Rohit Bal and Rajesh Pratap Singh are the designers who will be representing the Indian fashion industry.
The designers will present a collection titled 'India Evening' on French ramp. They have been selected by French fashion guru, Didier Grumbach (President - Federation Francaise de la Couture Du Pret-a-Porter des Couturiers et des Createurs de Mode) and Maria Luisa (owner and buyer of one of the most reputed stores in Paris - Maria Luisa chain), who attended India's premiere B2B fashion trade event in New Delhi from April 5 – 9, 2006.
The "India Evening", on the final day of the Festival, April 30, will play host to 800 French and international invitees, consisting of professionals, buyers, designers (Indian and international) and the media.
