Indian squad gears up for Cannes

Rang De Basanti is among 65 Indian films to be featured at the Cannes.

will be among 65 films being showcased at 10-day Cannes Film Market in France beginning May 17.

"Cannes is an excellent platform for Indian film industry for selling products, collaborate with global showbiz community and understand international production and distribution market scenarios better," Chairman CII National Entertainment Committee Bobby Bedisaid.

The India Pavilion at Cannes, organised by CII, has representation from across the country including production companies, line producers, post production studios and exporters.

The Indian delegation would seek global participation and expertise in their projects, a CII release said.

The India Pavillion at Cannes would project the country as a shooting and post production hub. The pavilion would also facilitate members to meet producers from across the globe, and would also promote Goa International Film Festival and Goa Film Bazaar.

Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti will be showcased at the Cannes.

by Santosh Sivan.

The Indian delegation would include 18 exhibitors who will showcase 35 new projects at the India Pavilion and over 40 independent filmmakers and producers from across the country.

Film and TV Guild of India, Film Federation of India, Indian Film Exporters Association and South Indian Film Exporters Association would also be part of the India Pavilion.
