Indian travellers unfazed by London blasts
The serial blasts in London have had little impact on Indians booked to visit Britain, said officials in the travel industry.
Barring a few anxious inquiries from travel agents, the serial blasts in London have had little impact on Indians booked to visit Britain, said officials in the travel industry.

"The blasts will definitely have some impact but only short-term as has been seen in the wake of the terrorist strike in Ayodhya recently. However, there have been no cancellations by those booked to leave for London," said Subhash Goyal, managing director of Stic Travels and president of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO).
Added a British Airways spokesperson here: "There have been no cancellations of any flights or tickets. British Airways has not been impacted. All our flights from here are going full."
The blasts in London Thursday, which killed about 40 people, have come during the peak period for tourist outflow from India to destinations in Europe and the US.
"This year the outbound traffic has already crossed the five-million mark as against the peak of 4.8 million last year. The peak period for outbound traffic from India is from May till mid-July after which there is a slowdown till August-end," Goyal told IANS.
About 500,000 visitors from India travel to Britain every year. There are at least two dozen direct flights from the country to London every week.
After July 15, the next surge in outbound traffic from India to Britain and other western destinations begins in September and goes on till the holiday season in December.
An average of 42,000 people arrive in London daily with about 8,000 from the US alone, stated officials at the visitbritain.com office of the British Tourist Authority.
"We have had some anxious enquiries from a couple of travel agents keen to know about the situation in London but no reports of cancellations. We expect people to continue travelling to Britain," the spokesperson said.
