Some of the Indian players, including Sachin Tendulkar, have accepted an invitation from Pakistani great Imran Khan to visit the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Research Hospital at Lahore on the day of Eid.

Imran, who built the hospital in memory of his mother, extended the invitation to the players recently and is said to be happy with their prompt reply.

The legendary all-rounder wanted the Indian cricketers to see for themselves the work being done for the cancer patients, as he believes it would help in raising funds for the running of the hospital.

"India is a big commercial market and there are major multinational and local corporate bodies there. Imran himself paid a recent visit to India in connection with fundraising and he believes that the visit of the Indian players would help in drawing the attention of the Indian people to the outstanding work being done at the hospital," local daily 'The News' quoted sources as saying.

The Hospital provides free-of-cost treatment to the needy. The funds are generated from 'Zakat' or private donations and fund raising campaigns.
