The Indo-US nuclear pact would pave the way for world peace, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said in Chennai on Tuesday.
In an article in the DMK mouthpiece 'Murasoli', he wrote Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remarks that the deal was only to use the nuclear power for constructive purposes "were heartening".
If the treaty was strictly implemented, it would pave way for world peace, he said.
On the deadlock over the ministerial-level talks on Mullaperiyar dam issue, he said the recent all-party meeting convened by him had urged the Centre to take steps to implement the Supreme Court's verdict, allowing Tamil Nadu to increase the storage level from the present 136 feet to 142 feet.
