Indore umpire to officiate in Asia Cup final
SANJEEV DUA of Indore will officiate in the Asia Cup women?s cricket finals to be held in Jaipur on December 21. Besides this duty, Dua has also been assigned to officiate in the league match between India and Pakistan. Dua is an all-India Ranji panel umpire and in the promotional umpiring examination he had secured fourth rank.

Working as an officer in Allahabad Bank Vijay Nagar branch, Dua also officiates in Ranji trophy plate group apart from junior tournaments. Allahabad Bank branch manager, staff members and Indore Umpires and Scorers Association president Paramdeep Pathania, secretary Rajiv Risodkar and other members have congratulated Dua on being nominated.
Amit stars in Friends Club win
THANKS TO brilliant spin bowling by Amit Nair (7/6), Friends Club beat Indore Colts on Friday by eight wickets in the New India Assurance Trophy U-15 cricket tournament organised by Lucky Sports Club at Yeshwant Club grounds.
Batting first, Indore Colts were dismissed for 46 runs in 26 overs. Amit Nair bowled brilliantly to capture seven wickets conceding just six runs in 12 overs. Anuj took two wickets. In reply, Friends Club scored the required runs losing two wickets to win the match by eight wickets.
Sayaji squash begins
SAYAJI INTRA-CLUB squash tournament began on Friday at Sayaji Club. Sayaji Hotel Deputy General Manager Urfi Hyder inaugurated the tournament. Club General Manager Ziaullaha presided over the programme. Players from 32 clubs are taking part in the three-day tournament.
Pair bridge
ANIL DESHMUKH/O P Naheria won the weekly pair bridge competition organised by Indore Contract Bridge Association at Yeshwant Club. Dr Anil Vijayawargiya/Jitesh Agarwal won the second position.
