A subedar, looking after the mess, was placed under suspension and several others were given adverse entries.

During the inspection, the SSP was very annoyed with the officials for their failure reply to his questions.

None of them could operate water canons or extra features in the anti-riot vehicle Vajra. Many constables even failed to fire tear-gas shells in the stipulated time.

As the barracks and its toilets were filthy, the SSP lost his cool. According to sources, he was unhappy with the unhygenic conditions prevailing in the mess.

He said that the crawling of insects on wheat flour was the worst thing that could happen. Consequently, he suspended the subedar on the spot and sought his explanation. He was also unhappy with the mounted police personnel who he felt lacked in skills. He asked the SP (traffic) and CO (lines) to ensure that the constables attached to mounted police are well-drilled and organised. ,
