BJP MP Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned the invitation and expressed his apprehension that it was a part of well-orchestrated conspiracy to close the BRD Medical College.
On Monday, members of Jan Utpidan Manch took out a procession and also burnt the effigy of symbolic invitation to the medical teachers at Townhall Crossing.
They also blamed the Mulayam Singh Yadav Government for discriminating eastern UP while allocating fund for development work and distributing power supply.
Manch's coordinator NA Nadeem, Syed Irshad Ahmad, Dilip Kumar and others said the Morcha would intensify its agitation if the State Government would continue its step-motherly treatment to eastern UP.
Meanwhile, members of the BRD Medical College Bachao Sangarh Manch president Virendra Singh Baghel also condemned Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and said the CM's proposal had exposed the real face of the SP.
Talking to media persons, secretary of the Manch Shesh Nath Yadav said when the medical college was facing the threat of de-recognition from Medical Council of India (MCI), the invitation to lure the medical teachers would further darkened the future of medical college.
He said during his visit the Chief Minister on October 28 had said that he would not only save the recognition of medical college but also make the BRD Medical College one of the best medical colleges in the State.
He admitted that the State Government had allocated funds to enhance the infrastructure in the medical college to save the MCI recognition but the budget was not enough to fulfill all the necessaries.
Baghel said the medical college was already facing shortage of around 48 professors and associate professors and at the time of crisis the invitation of the State Government was “unjust”.
