Iran proposes French role to break N-deadlock

Tehran says France can create a consortium to produce enriched uranium on Iranian soil as a way out of the nuke impasse.

Tehran has proposed that France create a consortium to produce enriched uranium on Iranian soil, as a way out of the impasse with the West over its nuclear program, the deputy director of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency said on Tuesday on French radio.

"To be able to reach a solution, we have just had an idea. We propose that France create a consortium for the production in Iran of enriched uranium," Mohammad Saeedi told France Info radio, adding that way "France ... can monitor our activities in a tangible way."
