ISDC students hand over memo to SP

A DELEGATION of students of Iswar Saran Degree College handed over a memorandum to the SSP (Allahabad) at his residence on Friday demanding action against anti-social elements who are allegedly disturbing the academic atmosphere of the college. The students demanded immediate arrest of a man who allegedly led some unidentified persons in assaulting a student leader of the college Avneesh Tiwari on the college premises earlier in the day.

The students demanded immediate arrest of a man who allegedly led some unidentified persons in assaulting a student leader of the college Avneesh Tiwari on the college premises earlier in the day.

Tiwari claimed that some miscreants arguing with the principal in his office assaulted him when he called up the police control room for help.

Tiwari also said that he had submitted a complaint in connection with the incident to the Colonelganj police.

Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike by the students continued at the college for the 47th day on Friday.

The students led by ISDC Students Union president Vishal Shukla are on an agitation in support of their 17-point charter of demands that include a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the college.

Gheraoed

A group of students led by Dr Ram Prakash Verma and Dr Satiram Yadav gheraoed the head of the Allahabad University (AU) Sanskrit Department on Friday.

Alleging irregularities in the admission of research students to the department, they demanded that a DPC meeting should be convened immediately.

ECC Principal Dr M Massey has informed that regular classes will be held from Saturday, September 2 as per the time-table.
