Israel to assist Nagaland in agriculture sector

Tahal Group, one of Israel's largest engineering firm, will assist Nagaland in water management and agri sector development as part of state's ongoing endeavour to strengthen the economy by improving productivity in the agriculture and allied sectors.

In this regard, a preliminary MoU was on Wednesday signed between the state government and the Israeli company.

Before signing the MoU, Nagland Chief Secretary Lalhuma told newsmen that Tahal group evinced keen interest to work with Nagaland government after Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio attended the recent international Agri Fair in Tel Aviv.

Kuneir Shimk, Joint Managing Director of Asia Operations of Tahal, said the group would soon establish a project office with the help of the state government at Kohima and a detailed MoU would be signed between the two sides after completing the groundwork.
