Being at home with loved ones is the most peaceful experience. And that’s what brought my family to Mumbai six years ago.

My parents were the most supportive when I decided to move into my own house alone. My only precondition was that they stay door to me. So my parents’ flat is right next to mine in Lokhandwala. In fact, this house is more of an investment.

I had a harrowing time with my architect over the interiors of my first flat. And I really did not want to go through an experience like that again, so I waited till I found an interior decorator I could trust. Thankfully, I met Twinkle Khanna who gave a meaningful definition to my house. My house today is a mirror to my soul. My house was done up in just twenty days — bang! The guys who worked under Twinkle were so perfect that I didn’t have any reason to complain.

I revel in luxury but I was very conscious and uncomfortable of buying anything expensive and showcasing it. I can’t stand dramatic decorations at home, so my interiors are really mellow and almost everything inside is in white and pastels.

I love every corner of my house and keep it spotlessly clean. In fact, at times the guests feel the house has been done up just then. My dream house is to own a terrace flat.
