A couple of months ago, Naseeruddin Shah opted out of UTV’s Hat-Trick to be by his son Imaad, who was seriously injured in a train accident.

Now that Imaad is responding well to the treatment, Shah has signed Anjum Rizvi’s Wednesday. Neeraj Pandey, who has done some work for television, will make his diretorial debut with this film.

Confirming the news, Rizvi says, “We approached Naseersaab for the narra tion. He liked it and has agreed to do the film. Currently he’s spending all his , time with Imaad, who is recovering. We are in no hurry to shoot as Naseersaab’s family is important to him. We’ll start filming only in April,” Rizvi says, adding, “We;ll be shooting it entirely in Mumbai and will wrap up in a start-to-finish schedule.”

The film also features Anupam Kher and Jimmy Sheirgill, who worked in his first production Charas. The rest of the cast will be finalised in the next fortnight or so, said the producer.

Unwilling to reveal anything about Wednesday, all Rizvi is willing to say is: “It’s quite a pacy drama. The story of the film unfolds in the course of one day And since . that happens to be a Wednesday we got the title.” , In the past, Rizvi has produced Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Charas and Ahista Ahista helmed by Shivam Nair.

Incidentally, both the directors began their careers with television. Rizvi remarked, “That’s just a coincidence. What matters is the script. Period.”
