J-K: Rashtriya Rifles jawan hurt in militant attack

An army jawan was today injured when a road opening party of security forces came under attack from militants in Kupwara district of Kashmir.

An army jawan was on Saturday injured when a road opening party of security forces came under attack from militants in Kupwara district of Kashmir.

Militants opened fire on the road opening party of 30 Rashtriya Rifles of the army near Handwara town, 80 kms from Srinagar, resulting in injuries to one soldier, police said.

They said the soldier was taken to a military hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.

Soon after the firing, army and police cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the assailants.
