Jammu violence leaves 3 dead

After staying violence-free for the last three months while the Valley burned, Jammu erupted on Wednesday. Protests against the alleged desecration of the Quran in the US, as shown on TV, led to clashes with the police in Mendhar town in Poonch district. Three persons were killed in the violence. Meanwhile, in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, a 20-year-old was killed, allegedly in firing.
