The exercise is part of the Government of India’s endeavour to utilise the expertise of the guru in training students, professionals and academicians in the art of management and manufacturing. Professor Shiba arrived at the institute this evening.

Senior professors of IIT-K said that the professor would also help create a pool of trainers for teaching management students and managers. This would help to meet the scarcity of good managers and visionary manufacturers in India.

This is the second visit of Prof Shiba to the IIT-K. He had visited the institute on August 11 and August 12 and held discussions with the officials of the institute and directors of some other premier institutes. He also met the director and professors of IIT-Delhi on August 19.

Director of IIM-Kolkata Shekhar Chaudhuri, a senior professor of the IIT-Chennai Dr G Srinivasan and director IIT-K Dr Sanjay G Dhande will hold a joint meeting with the management guru over the next two days.
