Jawan held for molesting minor in Udhampur

Udhampur police have arrested two persons, including an army jawan, for allegedly trying to molest and kidnap a Class-6 student at Dhandal village in Ramnagar thesil of Udhmapur district.

According to police spokesperson, the suspects, Shamsher Singh and Sunil Singh, both residents of Dhandal. tried to kidnap the student with intention of molesting her.

The student, however, ran away on sensing their intention and narrated the incident to her parents who reported the matter to the police. The jawan, who is posted with 3 CCSR, had been on leave these days.

Police said they have registered a case and the accused were being questioned.
