Judge B M Mallikarjunaiah adjourned the case in view of the pendency of a Special Leave Petition (SLP) by Jayalalithaa in Supreme Court challenging his order to dismiss her discharge plea.

The apex court had adjourned the hearing on the SLP to May 11.

In March, the court had declined to stay the trial in the assets case against her in the special court here.

The special court on April 27 had dismissed Jayalalithaa's application seeking discharge from the case on the ground that investigation conducted by Tamil Nadu police during 1996-97, was "not in accordance with law".
