Official sources said Jayalalithaa was accompanied by her close aide Sasikala, finance minister O Panneerselvam and high ranking officials.

This is Jayalalithaa's second visit to the national capital since she came to power.

During her June 14 meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Jayalalithaa had placed a demand for a special assistance of Rs one lakh crore even as she had been charging previous DMK regime with pushing the state into a 'debt-trap.'
