“I had asked Jaypee officials to show me records of the land, if it belongs to them,” Pawan Malik, the investigating officer said.

On Saturday, a complaint was lodged by Vijay Chauhan, resident of Nangla Nangli, against Jaypee group officials, alleging that they uprooted trees and some structures of a temple on Friday night.

The complainant also said the developers’ representative held the priest captive. The temple is five decades old.
