Soon, you can pay for your air tickets in installments while booking flights through credit cards on two of India’s biggest carriers — IndiGo and Jet Airways.

IndiGo and Jet Airways have a combined domestic market share of over 50%.

"You can simply purchase your ticket on jetairways.com and pay back the amount over three or six months in easy installments," the airline’s website said.

According to Jet Airways’ website, “For a three month EMI (equated monthly installment), if a ticket costs R3,000, then your EMI would be 3000/3 which is R1,000 and an additional charge of R45 plus service tax as applicable.”

IndiGo, India’s largest domestic carrier by passengers carried, also allows passengers to make payment through the EMI option. "The payment through EMI option is not a new one. This facility has been available for IndiGo customers since April 2012. This is a permanent feature on our website and call centre as well," an IndiGo spokesperson said.
